2025 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships Preview
Who will be the Phattest Tuesday in The Big Easy?
I am excited to announce that I will be taking my first of many gymnastics fan/media trips to New Orleans, host of the 2025 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships August 7-10 at the Smoothie King Center. I will be traveling by myself, staying at the host hotel, attending all of the sessions, it’s going to be the start of my transition from MAG Coach to full-time Gym Nerd.
This year’s Championship will feature a new all-around gold medalist, and it’s very up in the air this year as to whom the favorite is, versus those who are getting the major media attention.
After a successful winter season, WOGA’s Claire Pease is the favorite for the gold medal following an all-around silver medal at the Jesolo Trophy Event and a gold medal at the recent 2025 U.S. Classic. I will also be closely watching Jayla Hang from Pacific Reign, a junior favorite who achieved six medals (gold team and all-around) at the Pan American Championships in Panama City.
Personally, I will be rooting for sentimental favorites as well as Florida Gator teammates, Leanne Wong and Skye Blakely. Four years ago, Wong achieved some of her highest international results
